Mentawai Surf Camp Costs (2026)

Pulau Asli Tour operates three levels of Mentawai surf camp. All are 7-day packages. All include the same core experience — expert guides, daily speedboat access to breaks, all meals, and full transfers from Padang.

All tribe tour prices include: local Mentawai guide, fast ferry Padang↔Siberut (Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday from Muaro Padang — 3–6 hours depending on weather and sea conditions), UMA longhouse accommodation, all meals in the forest, and permits at both government level AND tribal chief (kepala suku) level.

Payment terms: 50% deposit to confirm your booking. Balance due 30 days before departure. No booking fee. Solo travelers welcome on all packages.

Optional paid add-ons: traditional Mentawai tattoo (permanent, extra cost, must request at time of booking), deep forest wildlife trek (not guaranteed — additional fee applies).

Getting to Mentawai: Ferry and Transport Costs

Mentawai is reached by fast ferry from Padang. The ferry departs from Muaro Padang on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 07:00. The crossing to Siberut Island takes 3–6 hours depending on weather and sea conditions.

Ferry cost: approximately Rp 250,000–300,000 per person each way. For both our surf camp and tribe tour packages, this cost is already included in the package price — you don't pay separately.

Getting to Padang: Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) receives flights from Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and other Indonesian cities. From Padang airport to the Muaro ferry terminal is approximately 45–60 minutes by private car.

Airport pickup: We arrange pickup from Padang airport as part of all packages. Let us know your arrival flight when booking — we handle the logistics from airport to ferry to island.

Surfboard on the ferry: if you bring your own surfboard, the ferry charges a surcharge (approximately Rp 100,000–150,000). This is NOT included in our package prices. Surfboard rental on the island is available at Rp 200,000–350,000 per day through our certified partner.
